Storm was created from two different photographs of summer storms and an idea or two roaming around in my head. This acrylic painting is 16 by 20 inches.
Meditation I was inspired by a stone wall on the grounds of The Shrine of our Lady of Walsinham, England. This acrylic painting is 24 by 30 inches. Painting sold in 2010.
City Map was inspired by an early map of the town plan of the holy city Nippur, in what is now modern day Iraq. This acrylic painting is 28 by 22 inches.
I studied at the Corcoran and later at the Smithsonian and the Yellow Barn. For several years I painted weekly with two other local Washington artists. A colorist, I compose with colors and shapes to create compelling paintings. My paintings are both planned and spontaneous. Last year i discovered cold wax and have fallen in love with the Japanese wabi-sabi method of painting - there are an array of tools one can use to create a painting.
I exhibited for several years at Foundry Gallery and at other art spaces in the Washington area. My artwork is in private collections nationally.
